YOU CAN DO GREAT THINGS WITH US:

1

LEARN TO KNIT

WHAT SHALL
WE KNIT?

GROUPS

At Knit-Stop groups, we knit together!

Each of our groups is a 8-week 'knit-along' course where you'll get the materials and guidance you need to knit a complete project. We'll choose a simple project that can be knitted by anyone - from complete beginners to more experienced knitters. Of course, you'll be able to personalise your piece in whatever way your creativity, and skills, allow you.

Knit-Stop groups are led by an experienced Knit-Stop knitting ambassador. They'll be there
to share their knowledge and support you and your group. As our groups are open to all,
we hope the mix of skills means you'll learn from each other too.

We encourage you to come along for the whole 8-week course as your project grows. Not just to come and enjoy a lovely cuppa with us, but because we believe that the best (and most fun!) way to learn knitting skills is face-to-face. You'll be amazed at what you pick up along the way.

GROUP ETHOS

Learning

Connecting

Learning new things is good! Yes, it can be frustrating sometimes - but doing it together makes it more fun. When was the last time you

tried something new?

Feeling good

For us, it's important to feel connected - to the people around us, to our neighbourhood and beyond. Our connections sustain us and enrich our lives - make a new one today!

Giving

It's what we all want. But sometimes it feels hard to get. Our groups are here to make life a little bit happier. Even when you drop
a stitch!

Everyone knows that knitters love to give!
The Knit-Stop offers you the chance to give something back to your neighbourhood by being part of our social knitting projects. We've got one coming up in May 2022 so keep an ear out for how you can take part.

Maybe you've never knitted before, or perhaps you're a knitter who'd love to
boost your skills and confidence?
Come and see what you can learn!

2

FEEL GOOD,
MAKE GOOD

Our knitting groups are a great way to
make friends, feel supported, share ideas
and make a difference in your community.

3

BECOME A KNITTING
AMBASSADOR!

We encourage interested knitters to become ambassadors and lead new groups. It's so much fun, and we'll help you gain the skills and confidence you need.

Our groups contribute to important and exciting research in wellbeing.

The Knit-Stop collaborated on PhD research at the University of Exeter Medical School to better understand how knitting, particularly in groups, impacts on people's individual wellbeing.

Our friendly researcher and fellow knitter, Mirja Rutger, now resides in Austria and will soon have the results of her work available for all of us to read.

We hope you'll be as excited we are to be a part of this ground-breaking research.
